Can't get duplicate 1280 x 800 displays on Dell Venue Pro and TV using WiDi

I have a Dell Venue Pro, Windows 8.1 tablet\slate (IPad mini size), that has a max resolution of 1280 X 800. I want to duplicate this on my TV.

I connected a NetGear PTV3000 to my TV via HDMI and it does duplicate the display, but only at 1280 x 720. The marketing literature said it supported up to 1080, but in further reading the details, it only supports 480, 720, or 1080.

Windows 8 "modern" apps require a minimum resolution of Height = 1024 and Width = 768.

     Issue: So as it's currently is setup\working I can't run Windows 8 "modern" apps

     Question: Can I get WiDi with the NetGear dongle or some other, to display 1280 x 800 or even 768

For background info, I connect my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable and it supports a large range of resolutions, including 1280 X 800 and 768.
