RAM maximization on an i7 740QM notebook

I have a notebook ASUS N53JQ equipped with an i7 740QM CPU. Needing to maximizing the PC RAM I have the following questions:

- as the CPU allows max 8GB, does it Worth to install more than 8GB memory capacity?

- if not, would be there a difference between the following RAM configurations 1. 4 x 2GB

2. 2 x 4GB

3. 3 x 4GB

all based on PC10600 modules?
