I have a new PC running Windows 8. In the HD 4000 Graphics Control Panel I added the Basic Settings for a custom resolution, it appeared in Screen Resolution, List of Valid Modes, but when I selected it, the desktop was not centered (up and to the right).
Started over. Removed the Custom Resolution in Graphics Control Panel, uninstalled the HD 4000 graphics driver, and installed the latest VGA driver for Intel integrated graphics, which is provided by the manufacturer of the motherboard (ASRock).
The monitor was previously connected to a laptop with nVidia graphics, running Powerstrip. I took the Linux modeline timings from Powerstrip, got a corresponding DTD from the DTD Calculator tool installed on the laptop, and edited the registry on the new PC to change totalDTDcount to "1" and plug in my DTD timings for all 8 instances of "DTD_1" found in the registry keys.
Then I copied the timings from Powerstrip to the HD 4000 Graphics Control Panel, Add Custom Resolution, Advanced Settings, and added the custom resolution that way.
The Custom Resolution is not selectable in HD 4000 Graphics Control Panel, or Windows 8 Screen Resolution. I want to make the custom resolution created from the laptop's Powerstrip timings selectable. How do I do this?
